Admission Requirements
Admission Requirements
The Applicants should be:
- Holders of a bachelor’s degree or legal equivalent in the scientific area of the course;
- Holders of a foreign higher education academic degree awarded after accomplishing a 1st cycle of studies, structured according to the principles of the Bologna Process by a State that has adhered to this Process;
- Holders of a foreign higher education degree recognized as complying with the objectives of the Bsc degree by the Scientific Board;
- Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognized by the Scientific Council as attesting the ability to carry out this cycle of studies.
Definition of International Student
An international student is a student who does not have Portuguese nationality (article 3 of Decree-Law no. 62/2018, of 6 August, which amended and republished Decree-Law no. 36/2014).
They are not eligible for the above:
- Nationals of a member state of the European Union;
- Family members of Portuguese nationals or nationals of a Member State of the European Union, regardless of their nationality;
- Those who are not nationals of a Member State of the European Union and are not covered by the previous paragraph, but who have been legally resident in Portugal for more than two years, uninterruptedly, on 1 January of the year in which they intend to enter higher education, as well as their children who are legally resident with them;
- Those who are beneficiaries, on 1st January of the year in which they intend to enter higher education, of equal rights and duties status granted under an international treaty between the Portuguese State and the State of which they are a national.

Documents
Applications are only considered when supported by the following documents:

- Document proving possession of a bachelor’s or master’s degree, indicating the final grade;
- Curriculum vitae duly updated, including documents proving the publications/activities mentioned in the CV.
- Motivation letter setting out the reasons for choosing the course;
- Copy of the identification Card, Citizen Card, or Passport, for personal data validation, and one passport photo in colors.
- International Student Declaration, in case of international students.
- Other elements considered relevant by the candidate for the purposes of assessing the application.
Documents proving applicants’ qualifications must be issued by the competent authority in the country where the qualifications were obtained and, when issued by institutions in non-EU countries, they must be legalized by a Portuguese consular agent or by the Hague Apostille, these legalizations being carried out in the country of origin of the documents. Whenever they are not issued in Portuguese, English or Spanish, they must be translated into one of these languages.
If, when applying, the applicant does not hold the diploma degree, he/she should upload a Transcript of Records or an Achievement Certificate and in the Motivation Letter this situation should be mentioned. In the application process candidates must upload a Certificate of Approved Curricular Units and, in the Letter of Motivation, they must mention that they are completing a degree and the expected date of conclusion as well as submitting the Declaration of Honor – Proof of Degree Conclusion.
The proof of degree, as well as the respective classification, are factors taken into account in the evaluation of the applicant. If the Scientific Committee considers it necessary, the selection of these applicants may be carried out together with the selection of applicants for the next call. In the event of admission, it will always be conditional until the degree certificate has been delivered.
Applications that are not accompanied by all the requested documents will be rejected outright.

- If you have previously been a student at FFULisboa and you are registered at campus@ulisboa.pt or edu@ulisboa.pt, please access to the platform and enter your email address and password.

- If you have previously been a student at the FFULisboa without a campus@ulisboa.pt or edu@ulisboa.pt account, please send us an e-mail to mestrados@ff.ulisboa.pt with your full name and Identity document number.
- Access to FenixEdu platform with your username and password.
- In the “Applicant” tab, choose the type of application: “Nationals and European Union citizens” or ” International Students “, and select the course.
- Fill the online form and attach all documents in digital format.
- Select the “Submit Application” option.
- Pay the application fee (75,00 €).
Target:
All students enrolled in FFUL’s 1st and 2nd cycles of studies can apply for extracurricular units following the deadlines established for this purpose. The tuition fee is calculated taking into account the number of ECTS in which the student is enrolled, namely 35€ per ECTS in the case of students enrolled in FFUL’s 2nd cycle of studies.

- In the Application tab, choose the type of application: “Extracurricular Units”.
- Fill in the online form.
- Select the option “Submit”.
Standalone Course Units
Target:
Individuals over the age of 16, with or without ties to higher education institutions and who are interested in attending individual course units.

Documentation:
- Identification document (Identity Card / Citizen Card / Passport);
- Colour passport-type photograph;
- Curriculum Vitae, up to date;
- Certificate of academic qualifications;
- If you are registered in any ULisboa School you must also submit a statement from the School stating you are covered by the school insurance.
Application:

- Access the FenixEdu Platform, using the access credentials:
- If you have never been a student at FFULisboa you must necessarily pre-register on the FenixEdu Platform.
- If you are a former student of FFULisboa and have already had a Campus/Edu student account, you must access the FenixEdu Platform and authenticate yourself with your account data.
- If you have lost access to your account, you can recover your password in the ULisboa users area.
- If you are a former student of FFULisboa and have never had a Campus/Edu account you should send an email to mestrados@ff.ulisboa.pt indicating your full name and ID document number.
- Choose the type of Application: “Isolated Course Units”.
- Complete the online form and attach all documents in digital format.
- Select the “Submit” option.
- Pay the €10 application fee.
Selection Criteria:
Applicants are selected by the course coordinator based on the following criteria:
- Number of places available for each course unit;
- Curriculum vitae;
- Certificate of qualification.
Registration Limits
- Registration depends on availability of vacancies in each course unit.
- The maximum number of individual course units for which an applicant can register cannot exceed a total of 30 ECTS in each academic year.
- Registration in an course unit may be dependent on previous qualifications requirements that are considered essential for a minimum understanding of the information imparted and for the acquisition of course unit’s skills.
Fees and Tuition:
The rates and fees are as set out in the table included as an attachment to Order No. 4/2020.

Student Mobility ULisboa
Target
Students enrolled in any ULisboa School wishing to attend a course in FFULisboa that can be framed in their study plan.

Application Conditions
Students should be enrolled in an ULisboa School.
Documentation
Statement issued by the ULisboa school academic services, indicating that the student is covered by the school insurance.
Application
- The student must apply for the enrollment at the ULisboa school;
- The school formalizes the request with the Academic Services of FFULisboa;
- After approval, the student must apply / enroll to the courses in FenixEdu Platform;
- Access to the FenixEdu Platform:
- If you have never been a student at FFULisboa, please create a username and password at FenixEdu platform.
- In case you already have a Campus@ULisboa account, you should access the FénixEdu Platform and enter your username and password for the Campus@ULisboa account;

- In case you have not a Campus@ULisboa account, please send us an email to mestrados@ff.ulisboa.pt with your full name and identification number (Citizen’s Card, Identity Card or Passport).
- Access to the FenixEdu platform with your username and password.

- Select the “Submit” option.
Fees and Tuition:
No fees are charged to the student. The fee will be transferred between the home Institution, FFULisboa, and the Rectorate of ULisboa
