The MCA covers a general view of cosmetics, from regulation aspects to the development, production, control and counseling for all categories of these products. It is a sector of high economical value and high technical-scientific and regulatory complexity, which involves researchers, manufacturers, users and regulatory entities, and with an important role in the healthcare.
The MCA objective is to prepare students for the skills demanded by the society: teamwork, selection knowledge, relate and summarize information, critical and initiative skills in problem solving. Thus, the learning allows diversifying and adapting strategies, putting the students in cognitive contexts appropriate for the proposed objectives. The courses will be taught in a blended learning (b-learning) regime, with the theoretical and theoretical-practical components being implemented in the LMS of FFUL (Moodle), and the presential component will be taught in the labs of the FFUL.
Teaching Language
The classes are lectured in Portuguese language.

Study cycle accredited by the Higher Education Assessment and Accreditation Agency (A3ES) on 07/07/2022, under code NCE/21/2100318, for a period of 6 years, from 31/07/2022.
MCA trains specialists in Cosmetology, with general and specific knowledge about the development, characterization, production and control of cosmetics as well their counseling from the perspective of technical-scientific and regulatory requirements.
These specialists will be able to carry out professional activities in regulatory agencies, in the research, regulation, production and control departments of the cosmetics industries, as well as in pharmacies and academia.
The course will be taught online (e-learning) and face-to-face (laboratory classes) and the schedule of the curricular units will be defined in due time for each semester. The laboratory classes will take place at he Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon.

The application fee is 75€, non-refundable, even if the candidate is excluded or not selected.
The annual tuition fees for the school year 2022/2023 charged to the national and international students are 4500€ for the 1st year of the course (curricular programme) and 1000€ for the 2nd year of the course (Thesis).
