The area of Market Access has gained increasing importance in the post-approval phase of medicines and health products. The need to ensure that innovations reach patients effectively, safely, and affordably, in different regional contexts, has led to a strengthening of training in this strategic field.
According to Beatriz Silva Lima, one of the coordinators of the International Market Access course, this area “is currently one of the most critical phases in a medicine’s lifetime,” further emphasizing that it is not enough to develop effective innovations — it is necessary to ensure they reach patients in an accessible and sustainable way. According to the professor, specialists in this field must have skills in clinical effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and adaptation to different regional contexts, such as the US, China, Japan, Africa, or Arab countries.
With this in mind, the International Market Access course was designed to meet the needs of professionals specialized in this field and capable of operating within diverse and complex health systems.
The program combines theoretical learning with real-world case analysis, encouraging contact with concrete challenges faced in the sector. With the collaboration of experts from various areas — from regulation to the pharmaceutical industry and academia — the course offers a multidisciplinary and practical perspective, aligned with the current demands of the global market.
Applications for the postgraduate course are open until April 20 — apply here.
