The City of Guimarães – Portugal – hosted last week the 6th International Congress Viruses of Microbes (VoM2022), an event co-organized by Faculdade de Farmácia of Universidade de Lisboa (FFUL, represented by Madalena Pimentel, and Centro de Engenharia Biológica da Universidade do Minho, represente by Joana Azevedo.

In representation of FFUL, have also been present the co-organizor Carlos São-José, two PhD Students – Francisco Olivença e Ana Gouveia –, and a master student – Raquel Gonçalo – who also collaborated in the organization during the event.

During the congress were present the latest scientific progresses on viruses and microorganisms in the ecologic and evolution field, host-virus relationship and biotecnologic applications in the agri-food, veterinary and environment fields. The event also counted with presentations of FFUL’s members Carlos São-José, Ana Gouveia, Fracisco Oleiveira and Filipa Vale.

The conference had 700 participants from 48 different countries.
