The 2025 China-Portugal Traditional Medicines Forum will take place on 18–19 October 2025, at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon (FFUL), bringing together leading academics, researchers, and international experts in the fields of traditional medicines, biomedicine, and technological innovation.

This Forum is organized under the framework of the China-Portugal International Joint Laboratory on Herbal Medicines, a pioneering project that strengthens scientific cooperation between Portugal and China, with the support of the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), the Rectorate of the University of Lisbon, and the Government of the People’s Republic of China.

Over two days, keynote speakers from prestigious institutions — including the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the University of Macau, Guangzhou Medical University, China, the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon, INFARMED, and ISO — will address timely topics such as the contribution of plant-based health products and traditional medicines to global health, recent scientific advances in phytotherapy, regulatory challenges, and perspectives for integrating biomedicine with traditional, complementary, and integrative medicine.

The Forum will be a unique opportunity for high-level scientific debate, knowledge exchange, and strengthening of international research networks, positioning Lisbon as a central stage for dialogue between tradition and innovation in health.
