The chemical synthesis of medicines has evolved with the use of innovative technologies such as photochemistry, photocatalysis, electrochemistry, continuous flow chemistry and biocatalysis, which offer more efficient, sustainable and selective processes.

This advanced course at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon (FFUL) offers theoretical and practical training in these emerging areas, as well as in established methodologies such as metal catalysis and asymmetric organocatalysis.

The course, which is the sole responsibility of FFUL, is aimed at doctoral students in the context of their respective doctoral programmes, professionals, teachers, researchers and students who wish to deepen their knowledge in the field of organic chemistry and pharmaceutical chemistry. It will feature the participation of national and foreign experts affiliated with FFUL and other institutions.
