This course focuses on the challenges and strategies of drug delivery and targeting through biological barriers, with the aim of improving therapeutic efficacy and reducing toxicity.
Students will acquire knowledge of the physical-chemical and biological principles involved in passive and active vectorisation, including nanotechnological approaches. By the end of the course, students should have mastered the essential scientific principles of advanced drug delivery in topics such as the fundamentals and strategies of vectorisation, controlled release, overcoming biological barriers, routes of administration, and future trends in this multidisciplinary field.
