Types of Mobility

Students at FFUL who are eligible to participate in the Erasmus+ Programme can apply for two types of exchange each year:
Carrying out a period of studies – SMS (Student Mobility for Studies):
- Attending Course Units (MICF students):
This initiative allows students to take courses at higher education institutions with which FFUL has an interinstitutional agreement.
- Hospital Placement (MICF students):
Students applying for this placement undertake a three-month internship at a university hospital with which FFUL has an interinstitutional agreement.
- Research Work (MICF students):

Carrying out an internship period – SMT (Student Mobility for Traineeships) during or immediately after completing the study cycle:
This allows students to undertake internships in companies, training centres, research centres and other organizations from participating foreign countries with whom FFUL does not have a bilateral agreement. Students are responsible for finding their own internship placement:
- Traineeship for MICF students: 3 months

- Traineeship for 2nd and 3rd Cycles:from 2 to 9 months

- Traineeship for Recent Graduates:from 2 to 12 months

This Erasmus+ Programme modality is aimed at future FFUL graduates who have attended a degree programme (Integrated Master’s, Master’s and Doctorate) in any scientific field and who apply while they are still final year students. All candidates must complete their internship by the day before the one-year mark after completing their degree. The date of completion of the degree corresponds to the date on which the degree was awarded.

								Application to the Host University

Students of the Integrated Master’s in Pharmaceutical Sciences admitted for Course Units, Hospital Training, and Research Work must later apply to the University where they will be placed, following the guidelines provided by the Erasmus Office of FFUL.
Students admitted for traineeships must submit the Learning Agreement for Traineeships form, completed and signed by the host institution, before the start of their mobility.

								Mobility Grant

Being selected as an Erasmus student does not guarantee the allocation of a mobility grant.
The Erasmus grant is not a scholarship but rather a contribution to cover the additional expenses incurred during the mobility period abroad.
The amount of the Erasmus grant is set annually for each country according to the reference table defined by the Erasmus+ National Agency for Education and Training (the Portuguese entity responsible for funding allocation).
Grant allocation depends on the funds provided to FFUL by ULisboa.
Students who do not receive a grant maintain their status as Erasmus students and are granted the same rights as those who receive a grant.
To ensure equal opportunities, students benefiting from the University Social Action (Ação Social) grant are entitled to receive an additional SAS Supplementary Grant for each month of mobility. This supplementary grant is awarded directly by the Social Action Services (SAS) of DGES, communicated by ULisboa.
⚠️ Please note:
The Erasmus+ mobility is only considered confirmed after formal acceptance by the host institution.
Therefore, students are advised not to make any financial commitments (such as purchasing tickets or reserving accommodation) before:

								Tuition

During the mobility period, students continue to pay their tuition fees to the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Universidade de Lisboa. Students cannot be asked to pay tuition fees at the host institution for the agreed mobility period. However, small payments may be requested such as insurance, student associations, photocopies, etc., which would also be required at the home institution.
The ULisboa Social Services grant to which the student is entitled is not cancelled.

								Academic Recognition
