Overview
This course aims to understand the market access plan and process from before the clinical trials phase to launch, including strategies and tactics.
In this sense, it aims to:
- enable professionals working, or with an interest, in the area of health technology assessment, to deepen their knowledge in the area of market access in Portugal and globally;
- explain, in a practical way, the process of evaluation and decision on price and co-payment of medicines, considering the diverse reality of decision-makers and payers nationally and internationally, through the sharing of experience by international experts;
- provide the participation of trainees in the resolution of cases based on the reality of the various stakeholders and national, European and international decision-makers.
- provide health professionals, with and without previous experience in the area of market access, with knowledge of the areas of HEOR, Market Access at National and Global RWD/RWE level.
This course is especially aimed at professionals with a background in economics, health and marketing with or without previous experience in the areas of market access, HEOR and RWD/RWE.
This course will take place entirely in a distance learning format (e-learning) and attendance at the course requires high fluency in English language.

Programme
This course will run from September 16, 2025 to February 24, 2026, and will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. (GMT time).
The course consistes of two session per week and will be entirely in distance learning (e-learning) format.
The course has a total of 92 hours of training, equivalent to a total of 10 ECTS.
The training hours are distributed as follows:
- Theoretical training hours: 80 hours
- Practical Hours: 12 hours
- Tutorial Hours: 05 hours

Teaching Methodologies
TakinTaking place entirely in e-learning format, with KOLs at local and global level, successful completion of the course will equip the student with the necessary skills in the areas of HEOR assessment, Market Access at local and global level in the European, American, Brazilian, Chinese, Japanese and Persian Gulf markets and RWD/RWE.g place entirely in an distance learning (e-learning) format, successful completion of the course will equip the student with the necessary skills in the areas of health technology assessment, pricing decisions and cost-sharing in national, European and international markets.
EVALUATION:
The assessment will be based on the elaboration of a group case study.

Applicant Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an area relevant to the course syllabus.
Selection and seriation criteria:
Academic degree and adequacy of professional experience with the candidate’s course programme.

Application Process:
Applications for the course are made exclusively through the FenixEdu Platform of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon (FFUL).

- On the tab “Candidate”, choose the type of application: “Non Degree Courses”, select the desired course.
- Fill out the online form and attach all the required documents in digital format. In the application process you can indicate whether you want the invoice to be issued in the name of another entity/company/institution.
- Select the “Submit” option.
