José Miguel Azevedo Pereira is Assistant Professor with Habilitation.

PhD in Pharmacy (Microbiology) in 2001 from FFUL.
Habilitation in Pharmacy (Microbiology) in 2015 by the University of Lisbon.
Principal investigator at Host-Pathogen Interaction Unit, iMed.ULisboa.
Since 2001: Principal Investigator of six scientific projects focused in HIV interaction with target cells.
Ongoing project: Neurodegenerative processes associated with HIV infection (until 2021).
More than 150 publications.
Since 2005 is Head of Virology and Clinical Virology courses in FFUL.
Supervisor of more than 20 PhD and Master students.
