J. Perdigão is a Junior Researcher at FFUL, holds a degree in Microbial Biology and Genetics (FCUL), MSc in Molecular Biology and Genetics (FCUL) and a PhD in Pharmacy (Microbiology) by the FFUL. His scientific activity spans across the field of clinical microbiology and molecular epidemiology of infectious diseases. The primary research relies on the study of the resistance mechanisms and diversity of Mycobacterium tuberculosis using molecular, phenotypic and highly scalable computational tools, as well as the development of bioinformatic pipelines and tools. He is the co-head of the Bacterial Pathogenomics and Drug Resistance Laboratory at iMed.ULisboa.
