The FFUL Mentoring Programme is an initiative that welcomes and supports students, created to assist those arriving at FFUL for the first time. Based on a close relationship between mentors (more experienced students) and mentees (new students), the programme promotes integration, sharing and a more confident and balanced academic journey.
Throughout the year, the programme includes various group activities designed to strengthen relationships, develop interpersonal skills and create opportunities for socialising and joint learning.
Through this set of actions, the Mentoring Programme seeks to:

This year, the Mentoring Programme Mentor Training took place once again on 9 September 2025 at FFUL, constituting a mandatory requirement for all students who joined the programme as mentors for the first time.
The session was structured in two complementary parts.
In the first part, the FFUL Psychological Support Office team addressed topics central to interpersonal relationships, the role of the mentor, and the fundamental values and principles that guide a mentoring relationship. This allowed the role of the mentor to be framed, reinforcing the importance of active listening, empathy, and effective communication.
In the second part, the mentors were divided into subgroups, where the training took on a practical character. With the support of two guides per room, students were invited to reflect on dilemmas through the analysis and resolution of practical cases, discussing common challenges in the mentoring relationship and co-constructing solutions. This work in small groups promoted the sharing of perspectives, critical thinking, and the development of skills essential to the role of mentor.
Get Together is already an emblematic activity of the Mentoring Programme, welcomed with enthusiasm by both mentors and students arriving at FFUL at the beginning of the academic year.
This year’s edition took place on 17 September, in conjunction with the Welcome Session for new students, thus integrating the event into an institutional moment dedicated to academic reception and integration.
This year, Get Together took the form of a Peddy Paper, in which each team consisted of a mentor and their respective mentees. The activity allowed new students to have their first contact with the Faculty, inviting them to visit different key points of the facilities, learn about essential services and familiarise themselves with the spaces that will mark their academic daily life.
The spirit of collaboration and discovery marked the entire activity, culminating in the awarding of a prize to the winning team, who received gifts offered by the FFUL Communication Group.
With the aim of continuing to support mentors and strengthening their relationship with their mentees throughout the semester, the Mentoring Programme organised two mornings dedicated to the quiz ‘Let’s get to know Lisbon?’.
This initiative provided a relaxed moment of socialising and general culture, in which mentors and mentees formed teams and were challenged to test their knowledge of the city of Lisbon. In addition to its playful nature, the activity strengthened the bonds within each group, promoting cooperation, communication and team spirit.
Throughout December, the Mentoring Programme challenged mentors and mentees to complete a Bucket List. The list included a variety of activities, from visiting a Christmas market to creating a Christmas playlist together, encouraging socialising and sharing.
