Rui Silva is an Assistant Professor, with a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a PhD in Pharmacy (Molecular and Cell Biology) from the University of Lisbon. He is head of the Histology and Embryology and Neurobiology courses of the Integrated Masters in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon. The main research interests are centered in the area of Neuroscience, in the themes of neurobiology, neurotoxicology, neurodevelopment and glial function associated with neurological diseases and neurodegeneration. The most relevant area of intervention covers the neuroprotective properties of natural food products and food molecules. It is part of the editorial board of scientific journals.
