Learning outcomes

  • Have a broad overview of the possibilities that the dispersed systems (emulsions, suspensions and aerosols) and different dosage forms (ointments, suppositories and pessaries) offer regarding the delivery of drugs, as well as their therapeutic benefits from its use.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of both theoretical and practical properties of pharmaceutical interest of the systems that form the basis of different dosage forms, as well as the basic operations more directly involved in its preparation.
  • Explain the nature, sequence and organization of unit processes involved in the production and control of pharmaceuticals above to conform to the specifications of the manufactured product, whether an intermediate or a drug.
  • Applying the concepts and principles of physical, chemical and biological development of the formulations of these pharmaceutical forms.
