In a society where progress in education, scientific development and sustainability is becoming increasingly important, the role of patrons is having a growing impact.

Patronage is an important lever for the development of projects with social impact, promoting education, science, culture and equal opportunities.

In this context, the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon (FFUL) recognises the strategic value of patronage in diversifying its sources of funding and ensuring the sustainability of educational, scientific and environmental initiatives.

This commitment contributes directly to strengthening the FFUL’s position as a national and international reference school, committed to the promotion of merit, inclusion and social and environmental responsibility.

FFUL has been adopting a strategy focused on the excellence of its educational offer, attracting talent and the efficiency of its resources, investing in the quality of its teaching staff, equipment and infrastructure.

It is within this framework that the new Patronage Regulations are established, defining the principles and rules applicable to the acceptance of financial support by FFUL, in accordance with the legal and statutory regime in force. Following the preliminary procedure provided for in Articles 98 et seq. of the Administrative Procedure Code — which included a public consultation phase, carried out in accordance with Article 101 of the same code — the regulations were approved by the Management Board at its meeting on 2 July 2025, and approved by order of the Board on 3 July 2025, in accordance with Article 59 of the FFUL Statutes.

This regulation marks an important step in the consolidation of strategic partnerships and the promotion of more innovative, inclusive and sustainable higher education.
