Sandra Simões is a researcher at the Dep. of Pharmacy, Pharmacology and Health Technologies, FFULisboa. She has a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a PhD in Pharmacy (Pharmaceutical Technology). Her research activity at iMed.ULisboa focuses on the design, development and biological evaluation of advanced systems for the delivery of active molecules, especially intended for topical application for local or systemic action. She is directly involved in the establishment of animal models of disease. Recently, she has been investigating the valuation of by-products from the food industry and its application in health. She is a member of the FFULisboa’s Animal Welfare Body (ORBEA).
