Rui Moreira is a Professor of Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry. He graduated in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and received his PhD degree in Pharmacy (Medicinal Chemistry) from the University of Lisbon. His research interests lie at the interface between chemistry and biology, and include the development of anti-infectious agent, the rational design of enzyme inhibitors and its translation into chemical probes for target identifications, and the development of targeted chemical drug delivery systems for oncology. He has successfully supervised more than 20 PhD students and published +160 papers. He currently is president of the European Federation for Medicinal Chemistry (EFMC).
