Rita Alexandra do Nascimento Cardoso Guedes
Rita C. Guedes obtained a degree in Chemistry (1997) and a PhD in Chemistry (2003) both from the Universidade de Lisboa. She is a Researcher (iMed.Ulisboa) and Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy. Rita C. Guedes leads the lab of molecular modeling, focusing her research on the discovery and optimization of novel molecules with anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory and anti-viral activity, using computer assisted drug design methodologies as virtual screening, molecular docking, pharmacophore generation, de novo design, molecular dynamics and quantum mechanics. Guedes has been researcher and principal researcher in more than 12 funded research projects.
