PhD in Pharmacy at the Lisbon University (1994). Specialist in Clinical Laboratory and Human Genetics by the Pharmacists Association (1987). Assistant Professor of Physiology, Pathophysiology and Laboratory Quality Management and Coordinator of the Master in Clinical Laboratory at FFUL. Was a full member of the Pharmaceutical Council for Clinical Laboratory and of the direction of the Portuguese Society of Laboratory Medicine and president of the Scientific Board of the Portuguese Clinical Laboratory Association. Has been dedicated to the research of the pathophysiological mechanisms involved in organ injury and in the diagnostic and treatment of Osteoporosis associated with Diabetes.
