BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Dora Brites, senior researcher, is the head of the Neuroinflammation, Signaling and Neuroregenation group at iMed.ULisboa, with graduation and PhD degree in Pharmacy. She leads national and international projects to investigate the spread of neuroinflammation in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Alzheimer’s Disease, and the neurodevelopmental disorders in brain aging. She tests regenerative technologies with cell secretomes/exosomes and their modulation with miRNAs in animal models and in organ-on-a-ship systems, using human cells from patients for personalized medicine. She is the author of more than 250 publications, has mentored more than 200 students, with benefits to patients and society. Frequently invited to academic/scientific seminars, as well as reviewer of projects, grants, and publications, she is member of the Health Network in Neurodegenerative Diseases, as well as of the Glial Network, SPB and ALZFORUM.
