Cecília Rodrigues is Full Professor. With a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a PhD in Pharmacy (Biochemistry), she currently directs the Department of Pharmaceutical and Sciences and Medicines, the PhD course in Pharmacy and the Master course in Biopharmaceutical Sciences. Her research combines cellular and molecular technologies, experimental models of disease (metabolic, degenerative, cancer) and models and samples derived from patients, with the aim of identifying new biomarkers and therapies, which facilitate the translation from the laboratory to the patient. She authored > 250 papers. She has mentored many students and obtained national and international funding. She is part of the editorial board of specialized medical journals (Hepatology, Journal of Hepatology). She served on the Governing Board of the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL).
