Graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2005 and obtained her PhD in Microbiology in 2010 both at Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon. After 5 years of post-doc at ITQB NOVA, obtained an assistant researcher position (FCT Investigator) in 2015 at University of Lisbon. Currently, she is assistant professor at Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon. Her main research interests are in the fields of molecular microbiology and pathogenesis, with particular emphasis on the interactions between the Mycobacterium tuberculosis cell wall and the host and the molecular mechanisms underlying antibiotic resistance focused on the search for new therapeutic approaches to tackle drug-resistant TB.
