The city of Lisbon has been chosen to host the CRS 2026 Annual Meeting & Exposition from 6 to 9 July 2026. The event, chaired by Helena Florindo, professor at FFUL, who will serve as Chair of the organising committee (AMPC), will take place at the Lisbon Congress Centre.
With the theme “Multisectoral Innovation for Advancing Delivery Science”, the event reflects the organisation’s commitment to promoting dynamic collaboration across various sectors. According to Helena Florindo, in the video published on the event’s website, the aim is to build an inclusive and interactive scientific programme that brings together voices from academia, industry, hospitals, regulatory bodies and patient associations. The conference will not be limited to human health, expanding its scope to veterinary health and the application of this science in areas such as food, nutraceuticals and personal care.
The conference is intended to be a space for active engagement, where participants are invited to be more than just listeners, contributing directly to shaping the future of controlled-release technology and drug delivery. Joint initiatives with other scientific societies are also planned to reinforce the commitment to global health and inclusivity.
The Controlled Release Society (CRS) is a hub for experts dedicated to the science of drug delivery, including delivery scientists, engineers, doctors and technical professionals, whose mission is to drive innovation in the science and technology of drug delivery through fundamental research, development, regulatory science and clinical application.
