This award, which is presented annually, was established in 1990/91 by Manuela Beirão Catarino, an Emeritus Professor at FFUL, 10 years after immunology was first taught at FFUL. The award is designed to recognise the student who receives the highest final grade in the immunology unit of the Integrated Master’s Degree Course in Pharmaceutical Sciences of FFULisboa. The €500 annual prize is sponsored by FFUL’s partner, bioMérieux Portugal.
