Learning outcomes

It is intended that students consolidate the main statistical methods that are useful for research support in the areas of Biostatistics. Emphasis will be given to the resolution and interpretation of practical problems with the use of statistical software (SPSS). The training in the resolution and interpretation of practical problems in Applied Statistics facilitate student participation in scientific activities.

Syllabus

Random Variables and Probability Models. Preliminary Data Analysis. Parametric Statistical Inference. Analysis of Variance and Design of Experiments. Nonparametric statistics. Regression Analysis. Statistical Quality Control. Special topics: Sampling, Multivariate Data Analysis.

Students are invited to answer questions and present their own questions. There are also computer lab classes where the students solve practical problems using statistical packages like Excel and SPSS.
