The UC aims is to instruct and impart skills for the student; learn the structure, metabolism, physiology of the bacterial cell; understand the strategies used by bacteria in evading the host immune system; explore new methods of analysis in bacterial identification; learn the mechanisms of action of antibiotics and learn antimicrobial susceptibility methods; learn the theoretical and laboratory grounds in the treatment of biological products and learn new strategies for prevention and treatment of bacterial diseases
