The ULisboa 2026 Scientific Conference will take place on 16 June at the Pavilhão de Portugal, and will be dedicated to the theme “Scientific Cooperation in a Changing World”, encouraging reflection on the role of universities in building increasingly dynamic and global collaborative networks.

The Universidade de Lisboa has been establishing itself as a hub connecting institutions, sectors and regions, fostering teaching, research and innovation. In this context, the event aims to discuss how these dynamics are transforming scientific cooperation: with whom we collaborate, how we collaborate and with what objectives.

Throughout the conference, partnerships between universities, the public sector, industry and other strategic actors will be explored, both at national and international levels. ULisboa’s position within the European Research Area will also be highlighted, as will the importance of consistent internationalisation and innovation strategies, consolidating cooperation as an essential driver for the future of science and knowledge.

The conference also serves as an opportunity to recognise the scientific merit of the ULisboa community, with the presentation of prestigious awards:

  • The ULisboa 2026 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) Awards, which honour the best finalists in presenting a doctoral thesis in just three minutes, encouraging clear and impactful communication of science;
  • ULisboa/CGD Scientific Awards 2026, which recognise excellence in scientific output across various fields of knowledge, contributing to the promotion and visibility of research carried out at the University.

Admission is free, subject to registration.
