The Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa) is celebrating the first anniversary of the Pavilhão de Portugal as a space for engaging with society by hosting the event “Experience the Future”, which will take place from 21 to 24 May 2026.
Over four days, the Portugal Pavilion will become a meeting point for science, culture, innovation and public participation, offering a diverse programme open to the community that encourages reflection and active participation in shaping the future.
During the event, visitors will be challenged to explore new perspectives through experiences that bring scientific knowledge closer to society and stimulate critical and creative thinking. Among the planned initiatives, the following stand out:
- Open-air concerts
- Science in 3 minutes
- Alumni scattered across the globe, gathered on a single screen
- ULisboa’s schools shaping tomorrow
- University theatre, exhibitions, workshops and experiences
- A space to slow down and another to speed up
- Movement, community and the future under construction
With this initiative, ULisboa reinforces the role of the Pavilhão de Portugal as a dynamic space for bringing the university and society closer together, encouraging the sharing of knowledge and the collective development of solutions to the challenges of the future.
