The Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon (FFUL) announces the opening of the first call of applications, from 1 February to 30 April 2026, for the PhD Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences for the 2026/2027 academic year.
This PhD programme focuses on translational research, aimed at discovering new therapeutic targets, drug design, pharmaceutical and pre-clinical development, and drug safety assessment. It is a highly interdisciplinary course of study, supported by institutional and international cooperation and a highly qualified teaching staff.
With a duration of 4 years (8 semesters) and a total of 240 ECTS, its overall objective is to convert research and innovation activities into direct and tangible benefits for society, contributing to advanced qualifications in the areas of medicine and its interaction with health, both in health promotion and disease prevention.
Candidates may also apply for doctoral research grants from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), which are awarded annually, and the process must be coordinated with the respective supervisors.
